Abstract

This article is to inform in detail about the creation, consolidation and maintenance of the Scientific Committee of the Association of Medical Students of Panama and thus promote student participation in this organization.
It is a student organization founded in 1995 that aims to promote scientific research at the undergraduate level in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama; work that has continued to perform for 18 years without interruption. Within these years, its members have participated in national and international activities and held various administrative positions in international organizations such as the Latin
American Federation of Associations of Medical Students. They have also made national and international scientific conferences and have contributed to international scientific writing such as the book "Introducción a la Investigación Científica" which is a reference text in our country. Thus, this committee during its existence has been recognized as an organization that seeks to enhance the name of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama nationally and internationally through scientific research at the undergraduate
level.
